To find information on how to get a grant for a comic book:
The Xeric Foundation is probably the only comic book foundation that I have found that helps self publishing comic book artist get a start in the comic book industry. The Foundation offers financial assistance to fully committed, self- publishing comic book creators. You have to apply for the grant which reviews your proposal on a semiannual basis. This site is a must for any self publishing comic book artist or anyone looking for some help in starting your comic book.

For free comic book fonts:

Even if you are just looking for some cartoon like fonts this is also a great site to look at.
